Frequently Asked Questions

Which calculation method should I choose?

For Bangladesh, Pakistan, India, use "University of Islamic Sciences, Karachi". For Middle East, use "Umm al-Qura" (Makkah) or "Gulf Region". For North America, use "Islamic Society of North America". Check with your local mosque if unsure.

Why do prayer times differ between apps?

Prayer times depend on the calculation method, which uses different twilight angles for Fajr and Isha. Small differences (1–5 minutes) are normal. For Maghrib, times should be nearly identical across methods since it uses sunset.

How is Qibla direction calculated?

Qibla direction is calculated using the great-circle formula between your geographic coordinates and the Kaaba in Makkah (21.4225°N, 39.8262°E). The result is the compass bearing in degrees from true north.

What is the difference between Asr Shafi and Asr Hanafi?

In Shafi, Maliki, Hanbali madhabs, Asr starts when shadow equals object length. In Hanafi madhab, Asr starts when shadow equals twice the object length — so Asr is later. Our default uses Shafi timing; your method setting may adjust this.

Are these prayer times 100% accurate?

Times are calculated using astronomical formulas and are accurate within 1–2 minutes. For exact local times, always follow the schedule of your nearest mosque, especially during Ramadan.

Do I need internet to use this tool?
